About Adjective
Adjective is a
part of speech that modifies qualifies, specifies, describes a noun or a
pronoun in a sentence. For example: Karim is a good boy.
There are different types of adjective.
1. Adjective of quality: Expresses the quality of something or someone. Descriptive For Example:
Ahmad is a good student.
2. Adjective of quantity: Expresses the
quantity of something or someone.
For Exam[e: some, little, much, enough, whole, sufficient, all,
more, etc.
3. Adjective of Number: express the
number of something or someone. For example: I have ten taka.
4. Comparative Adjective: describe to
compare two people or things. For Example: Ahmad is better that Karim.
5. Superlative Adjective: express
the highest quality of one thing in a group.
For Example: Ahmad is the best student in his class.
6. Demonstrative Adjective: modifies a noun or a pronoun in a sentence. For example: This boy is good. That man is rich.
7. Distributive Adjective: describes each or every person or things separately in a sentence: for example: Each of them are very intelligent.
8. Possessive Adjective: indicates the ownership in a sentence. For example: this is your book. My favourite food is pizza.
9. Interrogative
Adjective: describes a nouns or in a sentence as a question. For example.
What color is your
favorite?
There are three degrees of adjectives: Positive, comparative, superlative.
Degree applicable only for the qualify adjectives. Examples:
Positive degree: He is a good boy.
Comparative degree: He is better than any other boy.
Superlative: He is the best boy.
